Wanting to know a little more about City Youth? Here are some frequently asked questions...

  •  What actually happens on a Friday Night?

Friday Nights are our main opportunity to catch up with everybody after busy weeks at school and work. We spend some time hanging out, with dancing, games, music and videos. Our Youth Band leads us in praise and worship and one of the team of leaders will share an inspiring message. It is a great time to encourage each other and have a whole lot of fun!

  •  Is it supervised?

Yes. We have a team of 20 leaders who are committed to God, church and our youth. All leaders over 18 hold Blue Cards. Some of our leaders are also First Aid qualified, and we also have security every Friday night.

  • How much does it cost?

Our Friday night events are totally free! We do open Youth Bar, with snack food and soft drinks that are for sale.

  • What other events do you run?

Throughout the year, City Youth runs a range of events alongside our regular Friday night event. These include social activities like trips to theme parks or girls sleep overs/ boys camp outs. We also hold a couple of Youth Camps a year. These camps are a great time for youth to get away for a few days, have some fun and let God move. Extra events like these incur a cost and details are usually giving out 2 months prior.

  • Are you involved with schools?

We are very supportive of the work of Chaplains in our local highschools. Some of our team have attended chaplaincy-run camps as leaders, and our youth pastor has also had the opportunity to speak in school chapels. We run a free breakfast in Maroochy High School every Friday morning and have built good relationships with many students.
