FAQ’s

How do I sign my child in and out of Ignite Kids?

As soon as you arrive to church it is important that you sign your child in at the Ignite Kids Sign-in Desk located in the front foyer.  Upon sign-in every child will receive their nametag and get their Ignite Kids Reward Card stamped.

Once your child has been signed-in they are to go with you into the main auditorium for the beginning of the church service until instructed to exit into the Kids room where the Ignite Kids program will begin.

At the end of the church service it is important that you come and sign your child out of the program from the Ignite Kids room.  Children are not permitted to leave the Ignite Kids Room until signed out by a parent. Upon sign-out you will also receive any take home material, craft items, prayer cards etc.

Once you have signed your child out of the program please make sure that you adequately supervise your child in particular making sure they do not enter any stage or backstage areas.

What happens if my child misbehaves during the program?

While the majority of children behave well and are a pleasure to work with, from time to time we do have children who misbehave.  We have a warning system in place to deal with children who are misbehaving.  On the first occasion the child is warned about their behaviour and the leader will ensure the child understands why the behaviour is wrong.

On the second occasion the child will be separated for a small “time out” and miss out on whatever the current activity is.  On the third occasion the child will need to be picked up by you as their parent.  We will display the child’s number on the big screen in the main auditorium at which time you will need to come and accompany your child out of the program.

How can I be involved?

As a parent we know that you would take a keen interest in the children’s program your child is attending.  We have an open invitation for parents to visit our children’s program and view what is taking place.  If you wish to visit the program please notify one of our leaders so we can give you a visitors nametag.

Often children enjoy having one or both of their parents participate as a helper in the program from time to time, similar to helping with tuck-shop in a school setting.  If you wish to help in the program please talk to one of our team and we can roster you on as a helper on a one off, semi permanent or permanent basis.

Can my child bring along toys or balls from home?

We ask that you make sure that your child does not bring along any toys, balls of any description (including tennis balls and bouncy balls), or skateboards/rollerblades.

Any balls we do use are soft balls that do not injure children and the games we use them in are fully supervised.  We want to ensure that no child is injured by bringing in extra balls or skateboards and also that none of the expensive equipment such as lighting and projectors etc is damaged at all.
